About Sharron

What do you say about yourself?  Hmm, not an easy job.

I’m an author and ghostwriter. My first non-fiction book, WAITING ON THE OUTSIDE, is the story of my son and his journey to incarceration and federal prison. My second endeavor was the compilation and forward for inmate Brett McKeehan’s book of art an poetry, SOLITARY WORDS. (All you ever wanted to know about prison)

My third book, SURVIVING LA BESTIA, is a novel about two children from Honduras fleeing the gangs and danger in their barrio and trying to reach their mother in America. As they travel through Mexico on La Bestia, the Death Train, they befriend other migrants and encounter the terrors of traveling through a dangerous, foreign country. Will they survive and reach their mother in America?

HANGING GIRL is my fourth book and is a thriller! My first mystery / thriller and I had a lot of fun writing it. It is a story set on Coronado Island where a girl is found hanging in the nude. Was it suicide or murder? Sergeant Matt Monohan and his sidekick, Wendy Song will follow a treacherous tail to find out the answer. From the Navy Seals to the northern California nuclear plant… the mystery deepens.

My latest endeavor, WOMAN IN BLACK,  is a my mother’s memoir about living in Japan during the 1940s and 1950s. She was an unuual and truly wonderful person who directed me and my brothers to become who we are today. It is full of history and information about Japan and the mlitary occupation after  World War II.

I have helped to write/ ghostwrite two books. The first, CONFESSIONS OF A SIN CITY FUNDRAISER, is the story of Linda Smith, who single handledly raised over a half a billion dollars for charities in Las Vegas. She worked and developed Opportunity Village from nothing to a huge and revered non-profit helping disabled people. It is full of anecdotes of the famous and the not so famous in Las Vegas. You will ove it.

The second is THE UNLIKELY SPY, the story of Lt. Commander Arthur Lindberg who was recruited by the FBI to become a double agent in the Navy. It became the most famous untold story in the FBI files. He was responsible for the capture of two Soviet spies and the eventual release of thousands from the gulags in the Soviet. It was an honor to have helped bring this book to print.

http://www.prisonchat.wordpress.com is a blog I maintain to support and give information to friends and family of those incarcerated. Lastly, I am a married, retired, medical administrator. I began as a nurse in the critical care units of University Medical Center, the county hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved into administration from there.

I love to write and blog, so follow me on this journey.

Sharon, my loved one, who is serving LWOP, just called me–our weekly phone call–and told me he had met a man whose poetry he really enjoyed. He said he doubted I would be able to find the book, but he gave me Brett’s name…that is how I also found you. Mary Lynn

    • Hello Mary,
Yes, I wrote the introduction and organized the book for Brett. The artwork in it and poetry are amazing. It is available on Amazon. The name of the book is Solitary Words. by Brett McKeehan.
Sorry to hear your loved one is in prison, but hopefully he will be out someday and will have made that commitment to never go back. With you standing by him, he has a much better chance.
I don’t know the rules there, but hopefully you can order it from Amazon to be sent to him. If you aren’t sure, call the prison and ask them if books can be sent to inmates from Amazon. Let me know if you need anything else :).
      Take care,
      Sharron
