About Sharron Grodzinsky

Author, blogger and professional seeker of new adventures. After spending many years in the healthcare field, I now devote my energies to writing. I've finished my first book, "Waiting on the Outside" (The story of my sons' journey to incarceration) and my second book, "Surviving La Bestia". (Two immigrant children make a perilous journey over two thousand miles trying to get to America.) Both are available on Amazon. Writing is not an easy task, but if you feel the absolute necessity to write, then you are a writer! I am writing my third book, "The Hanging Girl". I am also partnering with Jon Ponder, CEO of Hope for Prisoners, to bring his story, "CONverted", A story of transformation and hope to light. I hope to have both completed by the end of the year. A little ambitious I think, but if you don't aim for the sky you won't land there.

Hi sharron, How are you doing and how is your son? Are you writing another book? I’m still writing Jamie’s book. I’ve done about 50,000 words plus partial chapters and would like to get a developmental editor to help pull it together. It has been quite a project when also writing blog posts and letters and trying to keep up with social media, and I’ve loved every minute of it. If you’re willing I’d like to talk to you about some of the hurdles I’m trying to get over. I’m sure you had to over come that I am, too. Ul send you my phone number if that is okay. How have your sales been? Have you done any marketing not online and did you begin marketing ahead of time? Did you develope a mailing list our put out news letter? Would you do anything different? How many words was your book? These are a few of my questions.

Take care. Have fun with your travels! Hope to hear from you, Sonni

    Hello Sonni,
How nice to hear from you. I will answer your few questions first, but yes, send me your phone number and I will give you a call. Let me know when is convenient.
My son is still in Beaumont, but disavowed his gang and now is targeted for retribution. I think they are going to transfer him soon.
My book was 48,000 + words and 150 pages.
I have not marketed much, but most sales are by word of mouth. I am working on trying to get a “button” so people can buy the book from my website. The good news is that it won first place for non-fiction in the small but prestigious “Preditors and Editors Readers Poll 2015”. It also won third place for the cover.
I would be happy to send you a copy if you send your address, or a digital copy if you like.
I have a mailing list in Mail Chimp, but have not used it. I really should, but as you know, life takes over.
I am now writing a novel that has noting to do with prison,
I am working with “Hope for Prisoners” and will probably be a mentor for someone.
That’s most of the news. I look forward to hearing from you.
    Sharron
