About Sharron Grodzinsky

Author, blogger and professional seeker of new adventures. After spending many years in the healthcare field, I now devote my energies to writing. I've finished my first book, "Waiting on the Outside" (The story of my sons' journey to incarceration) and my second book, "Surviving La Bestia". (Two immigrant children make a perilous journey over two thousand miles trying to get to America.) Both are available on Amazon. Writing is not an easy task, but if you feel the absolute necessity to write, then you are a writer! I am writing my third book, "The Hanging Girl". I am also partnering with Jon Ponder, CEO of Hope for Prisoners, to bring his story, "CONverted", A story of transformation and hope to light. I hope to have both completed by the end of the year. A little ambitious I think, but if you don't aim for the sky you won't land there.

Sharon, I haven’t read your blog yet, but as I read your bio, I think you may be my soulmate. My son was convicted and ended up going to prison too and I was compelled to research as much as possible about what may be happening to him while he was in prison. At the time, I could find very little. He has been out for a little bit now, so there is hope. He seems healthy and incented to make something positive of himself. But, still, I interviewed over 40 people who went to prison in various states, both fed and state, male and female, I researched books and internet, and was just obsessed, obsessed for years. I planned to write a book, but only wrote 123 or so pages and I realized how much was entailed in getting something published, so I started to blog on another site Strong Prison Wives and Families, but that site has been unavailable for over a month now. My hope was to give information to other people who had loved ones in prison so they didn’t have to go crazy as I did. I believe I need a site that can be found by someone in that situation and if I just start a blog, no one will ever find it. But I found yours! May I share my information, after I have had a chance to read what you wrote, of course, on your blog, so I can get some of the work out there. Happy to send you some examples of the posts I have done for your review. Happy to have you edit if you like. Thank you. Minette Goldsmith 520 975 3909

    • Hello Minette,
Yes, it sounds like we have similar circumstances. I’d be happy to review some of your work and see if we can get something going. It’s always good to get information out there for others.
I have not approved your comment, so it won’t show up on my site.
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.
      Sharron

Please do NOT post that reply, I do not want my phone number or name listed.

Hi Sharron, I was so excited to see your intro, I did not look at the date. I see you are no longer focused on the prison issue. If you are still interested in that, and have any ideas of where I could get my information out, because I remember just how desperate and obsessed I was and I really feel there is still so little general information available about it, let me know. I now see the youtube videos done by ex-offenders, but… still. I hope your son has survived and turned around. Re-entry is no picnic either. Roadblocks galore. But there is hope.

Do you have an email address where I can send you attachments of my posts? If you are into this still, and want to see them. It’s easier to find your communication via email too.
