At long last have I finished making all the review changes my editor, Christina Frey, suggested and uploaded my manuscript to Create Space!

Create Space is the Amazon company that provides a platform for self-published authors. You create an account, give them your title and other pertinent information, fill out a profile questionnaire and have a telephone consult with one of their professionals.

When you feel you are ready, you upload your manuscript and they design the interior.  If you have illustrations, photos, footnotes, or complicated lists, you have to choose  the more expensive custom interior design. The design process takes about 5-6 weeks.

You can also choose to have them design a cover for another fee.  I have my own custom cover designed by Morpheus Blak and will upload it when the interior design is finished and they give me the specifications for the cover.

When they are completely finished with your project, they send you a printed copy to review. When you are happy, you approve the copy and then the book is published.  You can publish in print, e-book or both.  There is an extra charge for the e-book conversion on Kindle.  So far, they have been extremely helpful and it has been a very easy process.  I will let you all know when it is complete.

Waiting on the Outside….almost there!

About Sharron Grodzinsky

Author, blogger and professional seeker of new adventures. After spending many years in the healthcare field, I now devote my energies to writing. I've finished my first book, "Waiting on the Outside" (The story of my sons' journey to incarceration) and my second book, "Surviving La Bestia". (Two immigrant children make a perilous journey over two thousand miles trying to get to America.) Both are available on Amazon. Writing is not an easy task, but if you feel the absolute necessity to write, then you are a writer! I am writing my third book, "The Hanging Girl". I am also partnering with Jon Ponder, CEO of Hope for Prisoners, to bring his story, "CONverted", A story of transformation and hope to light. I hope to have both completed by the end of the year. A little ambitious I think, but if you don't aim for the sky you won't land there.

My objective in writing “Waiting on the Outside” was to let other families and friends of inmates out there know they are not alone and to share my son’s and my journey.
